At Brows & Beyond, lash extensions are customized around your natural lashes, eye shape, desired style, and the condition of your lashes rather than using the exact same set on every client.

• Expectation and Guide

  BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

  COME WITH CLEAN LASHES ✓

  ✓ Arrive with completely clean lashes when possible
  ✓ Remove mascara and eye makeup beforehand
  ✓ Avoid waterproof mascara before your appointment
  ✓ Remove strip lashes or clusters beforehand
  ✓ Avoid oily products directly around your lashes before the service
  ✓ Remove contact lenses if needed for comfort
  ✓ Tell us what style you’re hoping to achieve
  ✓ Bring inspiration photos if you have them

  PLEASE TELL US IF:

  ✓ You’ve had extensions before
  ✓ You’ve experienced poor retention in the past
  ✓ You’ve previously reacted to lash adhesive or extensions
  ✓ You have sensitive or watery eyes
  ✓ Your natural lashes are damaged, brittle or unusually sparse
  ✓ You’ve recently had a lash lift
  ✓ You’ve recently had an eye procedure
  ✓ You’re using medications or treatments that may be relevant to your eye area

  PLEASE WAIT TO BOOK IF YOU CURRENTLY HAVE:

  • An active eye infection
  • Significant eye redness or swelling
  • Broken or significantly irritated skin around the eyes
  • Another active eye condition that could make treatment inappropriate
  • A recent eye procedure that hasn’t adequately healed

  WHAT TO EXPECT

  1. Consultation → We discuss the look you want — natural, wispy, fuller, longer, lifted, etc.

  2. Natural lash assessment → We evaluate your natural lashes, including their length, density and condition.

  3. Customized styling → Curl, length, placement and fullness are selected based on your lashes, eyes and desired result.

  4. Eye preparation → Your lower lashes and eye area are appropriately protected.

  5. Application → Extensions are carefully applied to suitable natural lashes using professional lash adhesive.

  6. Final check → We check separation, comfort and the overall design.

  7. Finish → Your lashes are brushed and your aftercare is explained.

  YOUR NATURAL LASHES COME FIRST

  Not every natural lash can safely support every extension.

  If the inspiration photo you bring would require more length or weight than your natural lashes can reasonably support, we may recommend modifying the look.

  Healthy natural lashes are more important than forcing a particular style.

  EVERY DAY

  ✓ Clean your lashes regularly with a cleanser appropriate for extensions
  ✓ Use clean hands when cleansing
  ✓ Gently cleanse along the lash line
  ✓ Rinse thoroughly
  ✓ Pat/blot gently and allow lashes to dry
  ✓ Brush lashes gently with a clean spoolie once dry
  ✓ Keep your lash line clean between appointments

  AVOID ✕

  ✕ Pulling or picking extensions
  ✕ Rubbing your eyes
  ✕ Trying to remove extensions yourself
  ✕ Mechanical eyelash curlers
  ✕ Applying strip/cluster lashes over your extensions
  ✕ Heavy products directly along the lash line that interfere with cleanliness or retention

  THE FIRST 24–48 HOURS

  Follow the specific curing instructions given by your lash artist, because professional lash adhesives can differ.

  GENERALLY:

  ✓ Be gentle with your new extensions
  ✓ Keep your lash line clean according to your artist’s instructions
  ✓ Avoid unnecessary rubbing or pulling
  ✓ Follow any water/steam instructions specific to the adhesive used during your appointment

  AVOID:

  ✕ Excessive heat or steam immediately afterward
  ✕ Rubbing your eyes
  ✕ Picking at lashes
  ✕ Applying heavy eye products immediately over the lash line

  Important: You may have heard that every lash extension set must stay completely dry for 24–48 hours. That isn’t universal with modern professional adhesives, so your Brows & Beyond aftercare instructions for the adhesive used at your appointment should take priority.

• How To Clean Your Lash Extensions?

  Yes — you should clean your extensions.

  Avoiding water indefinitely does not mean better retention. Keeping the lash line appropriately clean is important.

  SIMPLE ROUTINE

  1. Clean → Use an extension-compatible lash cleanser.

  2. Gently work through → Clean the lash line without aggressive rubbing.

  3. Rinse → Remove cleanser thoroughly.

  4. Dry → Gently blot excess water and allow lashes to dry.

  5. Brush → Once dry, gently brush them into place with a clean spoolie.

  ✕ Scrub aggressively
  ✕ Pull at the extensions
  ✕ Pick dried makeup from the lash line
  ✕ Skip cleansing because you’re afraid lashes will fall out

• Everyday Life - Makeup, Skincare & Wellness

  MASCARA

  One of the benefits of extensions is that you generally don’t need mascara.

  Avoid waterproof mascara and products that are difficult to remove from extensions.

  EYELINER

  If you wear eyeliner:

  ✓ Choose something that can be removed gently
  ✓ Keep your lash line clean afterward

  Avoid products that require aggressive rubbing to remove.

  SKINCARE

  You can still use skincare around your eyes.

  Just avoid allowing heavy products to build up along the extension bonds and lash line, and cleanse the area appropriately.

  Wellness

  SHOWER • GYM • SAUNA • SWIMMING

  Once any initial adhesive-specific restrictions have passed:

  SHOWER ✓

  Shower normally, but avoid aggressively rubbing your lashes.

  WORKOUT ✓

  You can exercise normally after your initial aftercare period.

  Clean your lash line appropriately after significant sweating.

  SWIMMING ✓

  Swimming is generally possible with extensions after the appropriate initial curing period.

  After swimming:

  ✓ Rinse/clean your lashes appropriately
  ✓ Let them dry
  ✓ Gently brush once dry

  SAUNA / STEAM

  Frequent exposure to intense heat and steam may affect retention for some clients.

  Be gentle and keep your lashes clean.

• Shedding & Retention

  “I’M LOSING LASHES!”

  Some shedding is normal.

  Your natural eyelashes continuously move through a growth cycle. When a natural lash reaches the end of its cycle and sheds, an extension attached to it can shed with it.

  NORMAL:

  Extension + natural lash attached → often natural shedding.

  CONTACT US IF:

  • A large number of extensions suddenly fall off without natural lashes attached
  • One eye loses substantially more than the other
  • Retention changes dramatically from your normal experience
  • You’re unsure whether what you’re seeing is expected

  Retention can be influenced by:

  • Natural lash cycle
  • Aftercare
  • Skin/oil production
  • Makeup and skincare
  • Rubbing/friction
  • Heat/steam exposure
  • Lifestyle
  • Time between fills

• Fills, Maintenance & Removals

  Extensions grow outward as your natural lashes grow and gradually shed with them.

  That’s why maintenance appointments are needed.

  BETWEEN FILLS:

  ✓ Keep your lashes clean
  ✓ Brush them gently
  ✓ Don’t pull loose extensions
  ✓ Don’t attempt to glue fallen extensions back yourself

  WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A FILL?

  Many clients return around 2–3 weeks, but the appropriate schedule depends on your natural lash cycle, retention and desired fullness.

  Waiting too long may mean you need a new full set rather than a fill.

  WANT YOUR EXTENSIONS OFF?

  Please don’t pull them off.

  DON’T ✕

  ✕ Pick extensions off
  ✕ Pull them with tweezers
  ✕ Cut your natural lashes
  ✕ Use random DIY chemicals
  ✕ Force them off with oil

  Pulling can remove or damage your natural lashes.

  DO ✓

  Book a professional removal.

  A professional remover is used to break down the adhesive so extensions can be removed with minimal unnecessary stress on your natural lashes.

• What's Normal?

  You may experience:

  • Awareness of the extensions initially
  • Gradual shedding over time
  • A few extensions shedding as your natural lashes cycle
  • Changes in fullness as you approach your fill appointment

  YOUR EXTENSIONS SHOULD NOT ROUTINELY:

  ✕ Cause persistent pain
  ✕ Pull painfully when blinking
  ✕ Make it difficult to comfortably open your eyes
  ✕ Cause significant ongoing redness or swelling
